Duties: Meriah-main, Julie- glasses/apps, Ali- side, Joe- salad, Tristana- dessert, Maren- drinks Dinner: Chicken tostadas, green salad, homemade ice cream sandwiches…yum!!, Irish Rose and beers.
Announcements: No personal news to share.
Other Items: Ali handed the hat to Meriah to pass to Tristana. Still going to look up pricing for goods. From now on we want to separate club from anniversary night. Two meetings that month.
Discussion: Scorching Wind By Walter Maken (Julie’s pick) Only Jocelyn and Ali finished (not sure about Tristana?)
Ali- The book kept being bad! Hated it so much I felt like I would never care to read again. Author was jumpy. Lots of typos. 0/5 Jocelyn- SO boring! And confusing. Author kept jumping between 1st and 3rd person, so annoying. The writing style was horrible. 1/5 Julie – Felt let down. Wanted to learn more about Irish history. Elementary grammer. Just couldn’t finish. 1/5 Meriah- Couldn’t keep my eyes open. No character development. Could have been great, but no action. 1/5

Duties: Julie- main, Meriah- dessert, Jocelyn- drinks, Ali- salad, Tristana -glasses/apps, Maren- side. Dinner:

Started with a shot at the Diner, onto Bocci’s Cellar for book talk and dinner at the Back 9.

Announcements: Jocelyn- No news. Julie- Mason starts readathon. Book club sponsors? $10 a piece was donated. Meriah- Got Comicon tickets…yay! Ali- No news to share, hating life. Sad Ali  Tristana- Hanging with the beautiful Barbara. Maren- Gave birth to Flynn (spelling?)

Other Items: We reviewed the 92 books the club has read throughout the years. Laughed about the fact that everyone has picked at least one crappy book.

Jocelyn won the baby pool…Yay! She received a candle with patchouli…haha.

It was decided we all pick are own books without input from the club!!

Year of the Hat? We decided no. Tristana is still going to weed thru through. Ali needs to bring to the next club.

Books from the hat will be used if someone shows with no book.

We all want new gear!!! Ali and Meriah are going to price sweatshirts, v necks and stickers. We will be paying from pocket instead of from dues. Ali is going to send a mid month reminder.

Discussion: Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee (Maren’s pick ) Meriah didn’t finish.
Julie- Wanted to give up the whole time. BORING!!! 0/5 Tristana- It felt like a junior high reading assignment. Just had to trudge thru. 0/5 Maren- My favorite part was when I chucked it at Maro during labor. Disappointing overall 1/5 Jocelyn- Hated. Had to assign 20 pgs a day to finish. There was a message of flying from under our parents influences and finding our own views….blah blah 1.5/5 Ali- This was a manuscript that should have stayed hidden!! That’s why she never published it. HATED!! 0/5
