Butterfly Garden By Dot Hutchison (Meriah’s Pick)
Discussion:
Meriah- Liked it, finished quickly. Needed more back story. Upset with the ending. Overall good ideas, look for more from this writer. Might recommend. 3/5 Maren- Didn’t like. Don’t like books with rape and murder. Seemed to far fetched. Kept reading to find the twist. Would not recommend. 2/5 Ali- Liked book, kept me intrigued. Some weird aspects to the story, unbelievable. Hoping for more vicious ending. Already recommended. 3.5/5 Jocelyn- Liked the book. Read in a day. Loved the back and forth story telling. Some unbelievable parts. Disappointed with end twist. This story stayed on my mind long after I finished. Could make a great movie. Would recommend. 3.5/5 Julie (from afar) - Enjoyed. Fast read. Would make a great movie.

Not recommend. 3/5 Meriah- The story was very predictable. Not recommend. 3/5 Jocelyn- Writing felt amateur. Liked that it was in Europe. Not recommend. 3/5 Ali- Easy read. Parts made more complicated then they needed to be. Would recommend to certain readers. 3/5

Discussion: Mr. Split foot by Samantha Hunt (Julie’s Pick)
Ali- Kept thinking about the book while reading. Very strange. Good job making us feel for the characters. The end was emotional. 2.5-3/5 Julie- Story strangely written. Large amount of metaphors and wordiness. Kept me intrigued from the beginning. Wanted to find out what happened at the end. Only recommend to people who like metaphor books. 3.5/5 Meriah- Some a little wordy. Liked how it came together at the end. It made me want to read. I would recommend. 3/5 Maren- Interesting book. Liked the metaphors. Gave lots to talk about. 3/5 Jocelyn- I did not enjoy this book. Didn’t like the writing style no all the pointless gibberish added to fill pages. I couldn’t connect with the journey even with my inner nomad desires. I would not recommend. 2/5
Favorite Characters: Ali-Nat Julie- Nat Jocelyn- Ruth’s scar Meriah- No favorite Maren- Mr. Bell
