December 2, 2018 The Power (Julie’s Pick)

Discussion:
Julie- Did not like it! Hard to find motivation to read. Only finished because it was my pick. This book was one woman’s protest. Written in metaphors. Would not recommend. 2/5
Meriah- Started to get bored in the middle. It was sad to see women turning so evil. Mixed feelings as to whether I liked. Would recommend. 3.2/5
Jocelyn- Not a fan of this book. Hated the authors writing style. It was so choppy and felt like she never finished what she was talking about. I did like her perspective on how women would be equally evil when given power. Hated the end! Would not recommend. 2/5
Maren- Started and thought this was going to be an interesting read, but no. Would not recommend, I never want to think about it again. 1.8/5
Ali- Thought it was terrible. Had to force myself to read it. Didn’t expect women to be so evil. Hated the writing style. Would not recommend ever! 2/5

November 4, 2018 The Girl Who Lived (Maren’s Pick)

Discussion:
Maren- Really didn’t like this book. Annoyed by Faith the whole time. I guess it was a little bit fun with the who done it pace. Would not recommend. 2/5
Ali- Liked it! Kept thinking about my Faith though. The last 60 pages I was on the edge of my seat. I had to know. Would recommend. 3/5
Jocelyn- This book was eh for me. It was fast paced which made it easy to read, but I wasn’t dying to know. I didn’t note anything while reading. Overall I was annoyed by the story and characters. Would not recommend. 2/5
Julie- I thought it was horrible! So, redundant. Interesting at first but the writing lacked depth. Stupid! The end was SO dumb. Would never recommend. 2/5
Meriah (view from afar)- I liked the book, but the main girl bugged me. Didn’t see the twists coming. 3/5

Ali- One year since Doaha was diagnosed with cancer. She was given 6 month – a year to live. I believe CBD and mushrooms have saved her.

October 2, 2018 The Hatching (Ali’s Pick)- September Meeting

Discussion:
Ali- Truly enjoyed. Glad it’s not a dud. Ready for the sequel, must know what is going to happen. I really wanted the world to end. Would recommend. 3/5.
Julie- Loved the short chapters, it kept it fast paced. Desperation CA is Boulder Creek. Finally got to a point when it wasn’t scary anymore. Maybe will read other books? Already recommended. 4/5
Jocelyn- I loved this book! Loved the concept of our demise. Liked the character jumping, keeping only a few true characters. The junk food pace kept it fun. I learned a lot while reading this book. 4/5
Maren- Liked it. Really scared of spiders, but I always save them. 4/5
Meriah- Liked it a lot. Characters were a bit overwhelming. Loved picturing the spider wave. Loved the short chapters, they helped me read faster. Want to finish the series. Would recommend. 3/5
