Book is Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty 460 pgs
Next book pick is Mariah’s.
Duties: Maren- glasses/ appetizers, Julie- main, Joe- salad, Meriah- drinks, Ali- side, Tristana- dessert
Dinner: Ziti with garlic bread, Cheesecake and Shirley Temples.
Announcements: Alyssa’s Bday party is May 3rd at the YMCA pool.
Officially the person bringing glasses brings an appetizer.
Arrival time for club is 4:00, discussion and meal begins at 4:30.
Maren paid for her replacement glass.
Tristana owes Julie $29.00 for her glass.

Meriah didn’t finish, Tristana???
Opinions:
Ali: Liked overall. Liked in the end that changelings met face to face. 3/5
Jocelyn: Didn’t like. Found it boring and depressing. The ending was okay because they freed themselves. 2/5
Maren: Liked, but no happy ending. 3.5/5
Julie: Didn’t like. Hated the build up for the ending. 2/5

March 29, 1215 Book Club Notes
$$$ - Balance = $157.00 Ali, Joe, Maren, Tristana, Meriah paid. Julie owes $10 Next book club is APRIL 26th this is a date change! Maren’s house. Maren is Birthday Girl!!!! Book is The Stolen Child by Keith Donohue 327 pgs. Next book pick is Julie’s. Possibly Big Little Lies.
Duties: Maren-main, Julie-drinks, Tristana- glasses (Julie still has), Joe- side, Meriah- salad, Ali- BDay dessert. Our lovely dinner- Chicken Cordon Blue, Creaser salad, Mashed potatoes + veggie’s, Sorbet, Cider and Beer
Announcements: Clothes swap April 7th 4-7. Double dues mean double dues!! $20. Jocelyn became a Certified Arborist.
Discussion: Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins (Tristana’s pick) Ali didn’t finish
Opinions: Ali - (from what she read) Related with Rachael. Never thought it was going to be Tom. 4/5 Meriah- Liked, but not totally hooked. 3.5/5 Tristana- Loved the book. Rachael rang true to home. 4/5 Maren- Liked overall. Didn’t like the characters and found it depressing. 3/5 Jocelyn- Liked it. Loved the constant changing of who could have done it. 3.5/5 Julie- Liked it. 4/5
All agreed that the portrail of alcoholism was done well.

Next book pick is Maren’s. Possibly The Stolen Child (It’s a movie)
Duties: Ali-glasses (Julie still has them), Tristana- main, Meriah- side, Julie- salad, Maren- drinks,Joe dessert
The person hosting needs to notify the club of their main by Wed., so we can make our items based on this.
Recap on jobs: Joe-notes, Meriah- $$$, Tristana- timekeeper, Maren- Menu, Julie- marketing, and PR, Ali- blog and enforcement of policies
Book Choice Order: Ali, Tristana, Maren, Julie, Meriah, Joe.

The lovely dinner we enjoyed this month – Swedish meatballs, Kale and Potatoes, Salad, Beer and Moscow Mules, and Hungarian shortbread cookies. YUM!! YUM!!
Discussion: String Diaries by Stephen Lloyd Jones (Ali’s pick)
Everyone read it!!
Opinions:
Maren- Liked the book overall. Enjoyed the ending although found it unrealistic. 4/5
Julie- Liked the happy ending because Leah needed a mom. There were a few cheesy parts throughout the book though. 4/5
Ali- Liked the book a lot, felt like the ending was rushed a bit. 5/5
Tristana- Loved the book and likes the possibility of a sequel. 4.5/ 5
Joe- Liked the book overall, but felt torn about the ending. Do they all have to happy endings? 4/5
Meriah- Liked the book and could go either way with the ending, good or bad. 4/5
Favorite Characters:

Maren- Hannah and Nate
Tristana- Leah
Joe- Nicole, Jakab, and Nate
Ali- Mosses
Meriah- Gabriel, Leah and Hannah

2015 Resolution amended: Only one get out of jail free book for the year. Even if you HATE it read it and come tell us why you hated it.
Got glasses back to Julie, so broken ones can be replaced. Discussed breakers responsibility to pay Julie back no matter the cost. **Julie getting a quote for beer steins.
***Congrats to Ali on getting her new house!!!!! ****Tristana sold the Mazda, so now some guy is supporting our book club
Discussion: Burning Room by Michael Connelly (Jocelyn’s pick)
**Had to do a limited recap for- Tristana, Julie, Maren.
Opinions: Ali- Ok book overall. Long winded at times. Didn’t like the ending. 3/5
Meriah- Hard to stick with at times. Loved the relationship between Bosh and his daughter. Got bored, okay overall though. 3/5 Jocelyn- Very disappointed on my wasted book pick. Junk food that was boring. Not very challenging. 2/5
