October 10, 2022 The Hacienda (Julie’s Pick)

Discussion: Julie- Hard to get into at first but liked it. Hard to read at night. Beautifully written with great descriptions. Already have recommended. 3.75/5 Caitlin- Not into it at first, but once I got into it, I was really into it. Enjoyed all the freaky parts. Good descriptions. Would recommend. 4/5 Ali- Finished on the last day. Well written and great descriptions, but too long sometimes. Scared me. Would recommend.3.5/5 Jocelyn- I judged this book by it’s cover and description. I was pleasantly surprised. Loved that the author put more of an exorcist twist to this story. Discussion: Jocelyn- I thought it was an easy read. It felt like a tale that’s already been told. Nothing really in depth about this one. Might recommend. 2.5/5 Julie- I think it had potential but fell short. This author didn’t know what he was doing. Would not recommend. 1.5/5 Caitlin- This book was …..okay. Not my style of writing. Very basic. Would never recommend. 3/5 Ali- Didn’t think I’d finish. Thought in the beginning it could be good, but the end was so dumb. Liked the riddles. Discussion: Caitlin- I hated this book! J=It just repeated life lessons over and over again. It was trying to be a feel good book, but it was painful to read. Would not recommend. 1/5 Julie- This book was strange in a bad way. Very slow, felt random the whole time. Just so dumb. Would never recommend. 2/5 Jocelyn- This book was painful. I hated it! Meeting Minutes: May 21, 2022 The Troop (Julie’s Pick)

Discussion: Julie- This book was not scary at all, just disgusting! Didn’t like the side interviews, found them distracting and ruined the flow for me. Would recommend to certain people. 2/5 Caitlin- Enjoyed the excitement but didn’t really like the book. From the start it was exciting, but some parts just so disgusting. Would not recommend. 2/5 Ali- Instantly thought of Dreamcatcher and Lord of the Flies. Gross! Gross! And Disturbing. Would recommend to certain people. 3.5/5 Jocelyn- This book was eh. A little too Lord of the Flies/ Stephen King. Writer had a great style with good descriptions. The story was just gross and sad though. Meeting Minutes: June 26, 2022 Sand (Ali’s Pick)

Discussion: Ali- I liked it, my type of book. Like this author. The whole book made me claustrophobic. Repetitive descriptions but liked them the first time. Would recommend. 4/5 Jocelyn- I liked it. Easy read and stayed exciting. Hard for me to imagine controlling sand, so good work for my imagination. Reminded me of a sandy Waterworld. Would recommend. 3/5 Caitlin- This book was wild. First post-apocalyptic book ever! I liked it, really enjoyable. Descriptions were all over the place though. Would recommend. 3.8/5 Julie- I enjoyed this book. Of course, I loved the love story. Vic was a bad ass! Liked the writing style with all the metaphors. Can’t wait to read the series. March 26, 2022: Beasts of Extraordinary Circumstance (Caitlin’s Pick)

Discussion: Caitlin- Loved this book so much! I haven’t felt this way about a book in so ling. Amazing for my soul. Loved the short chapters. Already recommended. 5/5 Julie- I loved it! Flew through it. Loved the short chapters- changing characters. Just fun and heartwarming. Already recommended. 5/5 Ali- Loved this book. This is the best most creative love story I’ve read in years. All the characters were great. Already recommended. 5/5 Jocelyn- Absolutely loved this book! The kindness within the story filled me with so much joy. The writing style was flowing and fun. A true feel-good tale. Already recommended. 5/5 Favorite Characters: Caitlin- Waylyn and Pig Julie- Lydia Ali- Micah, Merlin and Waylyn Jocelyn- Waylyn (Old Man Spider) and Merlin $$$ Balance- $? Discussion: Ali- ☹ on my pick. My book was shitty! I thought I’d be able to relate to the story. Could have been written better. Can’t take recommendations from other people. Would never recommend, would talk shit about it. 1.5/5 Caitlin- It sucked all the balls! Hated it beyond anything in my life. Would never recommend. 0/5 Jocelyn- This book was torture from start to finish. This was the worst book I’ve read since starting club. Would never recommend. 0/5. Julie- Chose not to read. Discussion: Julie- Absolutely loved this book! Ideal read. Love how he writes, so beautifully. Would recommend. 5/5 Jocelyn- I really enjoyed the book. Loved the writing style with super-fast chapter changes. Could have been 100pgs shorter. Would recommend. 4/5 Ali- Liked it a lot. Cover doesn’t do it justice. Liked the writing style.
