Meeting Minutes: May 21, 2022 The Troop (Julie’s Pick)

Discussion: Julie- This book was not scary at all, just disgusting! Didn’t like the side interviews, found them distracting and ruined the flow for me. Would recommend to certain people. 2/5 Caitlin- Enjoyed the excitement but didn’t really like the book. From the start it was exciting, but some parts just so disgusting. Would not recommend. 2/5 Ali- Instantly thought of Dreamcatcher and Lord of the Flies. Gross! Gross! And Disturbing. Would recommend to certain people. 3.5/5 Jocelyn- This book was eh. A little too Lord of the Flies/ Stephen King. Writer had a great style with good descriptions. The story was just gross and sad though. Would not recommend. 2.5/5 Favorite Characters: Julie- Newt Caitlin- Newt Ali- Newt and Alex Jocelyn- The Worm and Newt “The tree had a uniformly deformed look, like children nourished on tainted milk.” $$$ Balance: $???. All paid. Book pick is Sand by Hugh Howey 320pgs Next club is at Ali’s house June 26th @ 11:00ish. Bring your own food. Next book pick is Caitlin. Brunch- Bagels, fruit, chips, and The Swampy Worm Announcements: Julie- Mason turned 13. Going to San Diego. Caitlin- Bachelorette now has a penis. So excited! Ali- New job, Procraft Division Manager. Going on vacation first. Jocelyn- Cy got his first tattoo.
