September 29, 2019 Then She Was Gone (Julie’s Pick)

Discussion:
Julie- Enjoyed it! Read it too quickly. Just had to know what was going to happen. Kept hoping she would live in the end. Felt redeemed finally picking a good book! Would recommend. 3.5/5
Ali- Finished last minute. Liked the book, had to know what was going to happen. The end perplexed me though. Would recommend. 4/5
Maren- Really liked it! Couldn’t put it down. I was always hoping Ellie was going to live. Would recommend. 4/5
Jocelyn- It was a fast-easy read. I enjoyed trying to guess as the story progressed. Felt sad about the end of Ellie. Didn’t love the ending. Would recommend. 3.5/5
Meriah- I knew what was going to happen, but still enjoyed it. Liked that she told each person’s story a different way. 3/5

August 25, 2019 High Achiever (Maren’s Pick) Meeting Minutes

Discussion:
Maren- Liked it! Couldn’t put it down, had to know what the story was. Tied together too fast. Feel like there has to be more to the story. Would recommend. 4/5
Julie- Had no knowledge of who she was before this book. Laughed out loud a lot. Wasn’t sure I’d like it, not really into addict books. Felt sorry for Eliot. Already have recommended. 4/5
Jocelyn- I felt the book was okay, kind of blah. It was well written, but I expected more humor from her. Felt like I had heard it all before, similar to so many addict tales. Would not recommend 2.5/5
Meriah- Loved it, fun read! Really interesting. Liked that it was a true story. Would recommend. 4/5
Ali- DID NOT FINISH- Gets a pass for death in family

Meeting Minutes: July 28, 2019- The Fourth Monkey (Ali’s Pick)

Discussion:
Ali- Liked it a lot. Glad I chose this over something else. Didn’t know it was a sequel. Loved that it went back and forth. Have already started the second book. Would recommend. 4/5
Julie- Little too much like Seven. Kept my attention. Fast read. I was invested in the characters. Too gory for my tastes. Have already recommended to my mom. 3.5/5
Jocelyn- Loved it! Super fun to read. Junk food that was needed. I never got bored, had to know. Loved the justice at the end. Already read the second and now waiting for the third. Would recommend. 4/5
Meriah- Super fun. My type of book. The diary was my favorite part. Onto the sequel. Would recommend. 4/5
Maren- Thought it was interesting. Likes the scary, but too much torture. Didn’t like the end, but want to know what happens. Would recommend to certain people. 3/5

June 23,2019 Circe (Jocelyn’s Pick)

Discussion:
Jocelyn- I loved this book! It was fun to use my imagination so much and I loved the language used. The tale was sad overall and the ending left it hanging. It was a super fun read. I would recommend. 4/5
Julie- Loved it! Brought back Greek mythology to my mind. Her island was a paradise. Would recommend. 4/5
Ali- Loved the book. Love mythology. This was fun. I knew the characters. Good length, hated the open ending. Would recommend. 4/5
Maren- Liked it. It was hard to get into, I don’t really like Greek mythology. Liked that she was old, but kept making mistakes. Would recommend to certain people. 3/5
Meriah- (Views from afar) The book was awesome. Been talking about it for weeks. Loved her trasition from young girl to having her own island. Would recommend. 4.2/5

Jocelyn- Jack DeBond’s suicide has been a shadow over our family. So, hard to guide our boy through this grieving process. Had to cancel our vacation for the service.
Ali- Justin and I had our first fight. He’s been groveling ever since.
Julie- Hernia surgery next month.
Maren- My boss is leaving in September. Not sure if they have a new pastor? My second job is in question. PTA president is kind of crazy.
