Meriah- Thought it was alright. I didn’t really want to pick it up most of the time. Overall it was just err. Would not recommend. 3/5
Julie- Hated it! Boring! Hope it makes a better movie then a book. Would never recommend! 2/5
Jocelyn- I absolutely hated it. The pace was so slow. I do feel like the author was trying to make it seem like a Hitchcock movie. Could have been cool but wasn’t. Would not recommend. 1.5/5
Maren- I loved it! I related to the book with this COVID lockdown. Quick read, really fun. Would recommend for a beach read. 4/5
Ali- Hated it. Stupidest book ever. Girl on the Train all over again. Felt I had to read it just to get it over with. Don’t care to see the movie. Would not recommend. 2/5

February 16, 2020 The Great Alone (Julie’s Pick) Meeting Minutes

Discussion:
Julie- Absolutely loved it! I just love this author. The way she writes, I feel like I’m there. I liked the time period too. Would recommend. 4.5/5
Meriah- Loved it! Finished too early, couldn’t put it down. Great descriptions. Would recommend. 4.7/5
Jocelyn- Overall I enjoyed the book. Loved the descriptions of Alaska and the rugged lifestyle. Such a great time period. I did find it way too predictable. Would recommend. 3.5/5
Ali- Liked the book overall. The end scenes went way too fast. Once Ernt went down it became too predictable. Just didn’t like the end. Already have recommended. 4/5
Maren- I read it got bad reviews so I was hoping I didn’t hate it. I really really liked it! I did feel like- Come on Cora. I just don’t understand why women can’t leave. Would recommend. 4.5/5

Discussion:
Maren- I picked this book because it got good reviews. Liked the beginning. Then it turned into, let’s just have conversations for the whole book. It was a fast read. Would never recommend. 3/5
Jocelyn- This book was horrible. Nothing ever happens in this story that you didn’t know was going to happen. Felt like a trashy airport kiosk book. Would never recommend. 0/5
Ali- Hated the book! Wanted to wash my mind of it. I might need to read a self-help book now. Would never recommend. 0/5
Julie- Nothing happens the whole time! No sex at all! Basically, a flat liner book, no climax.
Meriah- Could have had more potential. Junk food read. It was stagnant, which started to drive me crazy. Would not recommend. 2/5

Meeting Minutes: December 29, 2019 My Brilliant Friend (Ali’s Pick)

Discussion:
Ali- I had wanted to pick this book for a while, but kept judging it by the cover. Liked that it was Italian. Liked how the author displayed it. Really enjoyed it! Would Recommend. 5/5
Maren- Didn’t like it. The set up was okay, but then what the hell happened. Names were totally confusing, The book drug on forever. Never recommend. 1/5
Julie- Hated it! It was torture. Boring whiney little girls. At 80% I felt kill me now. Names were too much, jumpy writing. What was the point. Never recommend 1.5/5
Jocelyn- I hated the book. I was annoyed within the first 20pgs and it never got better. The authors writing style was exhausting! Constant mini story jumping to loop back to what she was trying to say, which was absolutely nothing. Boring! Never recommend. 1.5/5
