Clubhouse decorations

Hey ladies! Just letting you know about the fabulous clubhouse. I went through my keepsakes and found all my cool nick nacks from my childhood. Many of which fit perfectly in the clubhouse so I get to actually use the shit. And it's adorable!!!! I have awards from old book contests, stuffed animals and old school classic books that my mom packed away.

It's pretty f-in' cool gals. We are so totally having a sleepover bookclub meeting!

     Bookclub still going strong; life gets tangled at times. Growing up and, sadly, growing old. We will always have obstacles. The fact that we, in our 30's, are still making the effort, and it is the best thing ever! Knowing that no matter what hell we befall we will still have each other. It's even better than a best friend it's like a coven of sorts. Cuz no matter what, one of us is always there. No matter what we can make the time. So I note this date because we are skipping May's meeting but still have the next one planned.

    We have newborns, and teens. We have kids, lost jobs, new jobs, old kids, mean husbands, nice husbands, job shit, stress, dogs and a big fucking mess. yet, I am proud to say I hang out with my girls, I read books, I get love & support and most importantly, I give it. Thanks girls, we're still doin' what they all said we couldn't.

       It all started as a fluke idea in a Bonny Doon living room a little more than one year ago. The ramblings of three women desiring nothing more than closeness, companionship and some time mandated for nothing more than that.

      This idea; seeming to me as symbolic as the silly pair of pants in that "traveling Pants...." movie. This club keeps us chatting at least once a month. Sometimes more often just to talk but also cheat and burst out with some sort of reaction to the book at hand.

     A small idea based solely on two things: the need to be there and a promise to make it a priority.

    So far this club of ours has taken us thru the up bringing of a baby girl. This girl experiencing something she'll crave when the time comes- a group of friends like us. We've been through fights, possible divorce, and family hardships. many moments of embarrassment, hangovers, interferences, and most importantly compromise.

    The diversity brought to the table is immeasurable and I cherish this experience; this small idea spoken and acted upon. If for nothing else I hope that through the many changes, the new babies to come, the ones that continue to grow, the teenage years-now and in the future; that we try hard to continue this tiny thing that brings us together for a moment to share and feel and be loved.
