July 19, 2015 Book Club Notes
$$$ - Balance of $472. Paid: Jocelyn, Ali, Julie, Meriah, Tristana no pay for birthday. Maren owes.

Next book club is Aug. 30th – Hosted by Ali at Meriah’s new house. Pool Party!!!! This will be Meriah’s birthday club.

Book is A Thousand Splendid Sons by Khaled Hosseini 432 pgs.

Next book pick is Tristana, possibly Fight club by Chuck Palahniuk 224 pgs.

Next date proposed is Sept. 20th.

Duties: Ali- Main, Tristana- Drinks, Maren- Salad, Julie- Side, Meriah- Dessert, Joe- Glasses /App

Dinner: Zucchini turkey/chorizo tacos, Cheese/dip platter, Beet salad, Homemade tomatillo salsa, Greek fro yo with mini peanut butter cups, sliced strawberries and whipped cream.

Announcements: Ali- House warming party on Aug.15th Jocelyn- Cy’s play running July 29-Aug 2nd Tickets at LPRT.org

Tristana- Birthday BBQ at her house Aug4th. Kitty was hit by a car, but lives on  Maren- Pool time baby shower is Aug 22nd at 2:00. Need to think of pool games. Julie- Had a great trip in Maui, got a new tattoo. Feeling really happy with new boyfriend Chris. Hosting a Damsel’s in Defense party on Set 13th, 4:00 at Bailey Property Management building in SV.
Meriah- Moving to Bonny Doon. Birthday is Sept 1st, maybe a pool party.

Other Items: Punishment for not reading the book is there will be no recap from now on!

Bring back the game – Which actors would play book characters.

Discussion: Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel (Joe’s pick) Tristana and Maren didn’t finish ……No Recap Ali: Enjoyed book. Liked the spider web life of the actor. 4/5 Jocelyn: Really liked for a post apocalyptic book. Liked the jumping from past to present. Loved that there was a tattoo artist even after all that befell mankind!! 3.5/5 Julie: Thought the author had beautiful details and loved the way it was written. Loved that Clark started the museum. 4/5 Meriah: Enjoyed book. Really liked the Symphony. Could have used some more prophet action. 3.5/5
