Meeting Minutes: July 19, 2020 The Lost Girls (Julie’s Pick)

Discussion: Julie- Too similar to our last book. Did not like or hate the book. It was disturbing. Didn’t like the end. Would not recommend. 3/5 Jocelyn- This was a “no satisfaction” book. It was well written, but just sad and disturbing. I would have loved traveling to a lake every summer in my childhood. Would not recommend. 2.5/5 Maren- Well written. Easy fast paced read. Wish the ending had tied more together. Would not recommend. 3/5 Ali- So very disturbing although well written. Just did not enjoy. Would not recommend. 3/5 Meriah- Did not read or comment. Favorite Characters: Julie- Mathew Jocelyn- The kittens Maren- Mathew and Ray Ali- Melanie and Emily “There is no harm in the writing. It is only in the reading that the damage would be done.” Balance $$$- $410. Julie, Jocelyn and Ali paid even. Maren will owe $20 next club. Meriah? Next club is 8/16/20. Possibly at Maren’s pool……? Or Jocelyn’s House. Book Pick is Devolution by Max Brooks 350pgs. Duties: Hostess makes a creative cocktail. All bring your own dinner, drinks and a chair. Announcements: Jocelyn- Cypress is going to Montana and we get to spend our 20-year anniversary camping. Maren- Going for a job interview, will have four jobs. Hopefully quitting the one I hate. Ali- Starting new projects and get to dog sit Bear.
