August 16, 2020 Devolution (Jocelyn’s Pick)

Discussion: Jocelyn- I loved it! This was a fun easy read. I like reading about unprepared people having to figure out how to survive. I also really liked that so many true facts were mixed into the story. Would recommend. 4/5 Julie- Super fun book. Hated that bigfoot was a bad guy though. Was totally into it the whole time. Would recommend. 4/5 Ali- Really liked it. Lots of questions came from the book, great discussion pick. Liked the back and forth between the reality of the book. Already recommended. 4/5 Maren- Did not finish Meriah- Did not read Favorite Characters: Jocelyn- Mostar and Palomino Julie- Mostar and Alpha Ali- Mostar “It’s great to live free of all the other sheep until you hear the wolves howl.” “It is not the most intellectual of the species that survives; it is not the strongest that survives; but the species that survives is the one that is best able to adapt and adjust to changing environment in which it finds itself.” Balance$$$- $460. Everyone paid up. Next club is 9/27/20 at Ali’s House. Book pick is The Outsider by Stephan King 540pgs Next book pick is Maren’s. Possibly club date 10/25/20.
