Ok we left off nixing April dates as it is either inconvenient or on easter or a bday. Can we meet sunday May 15th??? Or if someone can pick a Monday I believe Julie is off and maren is off those days. Let me know.

KITCHEN CONFIDENTIAL by Anthony Bordain

Book was not widely liked. Ali & Maren were the only ones who read the whole thing. It was good in content but droned on and on. Decriptions taking up multiple pages to basically say a one sentence thing. Sad that it is too wordy. The first three-four chapters are good but then once in New York the stories are more description then story. Almost as if he is trying to glam up some things. SCMBOOK Club Rating: D-

• Rules to discuss: 
• Pay double dues for missing club.
• This applies to last minute plans (ie: Julie not coming due to a hangover, missing club due to friend coming into town last minute and not coming to club to hang with friend, missing club due to last minute opportunities to leave town, or baby showers, other peoples bday parties, etc.
• NO NEGATIVE comments about the book on the blog until after club meeting. These discourage others from wanting to finish.

This book is really boring for me and I'm having a hard time getting through it. I feel like ya ya ya get on with it... FYI I'm almost half way through.

City of Embers (Book #1) Awesome!!!

Good morning my lovelies!! I just wanted to share a book that was suggested to me and which has grabbed my attention and now I am stuck thinking all day about.

I downloaded the sample to see how I'd like it in between Kitchen Confidential. Holy Crap! I got to the page 13 where they cut you off and just as they must have planned it I was cut off right where I wanted more. Damn it!!!!


So I highly suggest City of Embers girls. (there are 4 books in the series).
